Just watch this film recently. Although it was already showed at theatre last year, but only now, got the mood to watch it.

I think this film is about dream, courage and hope. We hope for it, we dream for it, and we need to have courage for it too. Once set the destination, don't give up till the end. And we will see the results.

Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Saoirse Ronan, and others who involve in this film, their performance are GREAT!

Best Horror Film of the Year!!
For those who likes horror film, don't miss this one out! It will freak you out!
It's one of the best!
Directed by James Wan, the co-writer / co-director of SAW.
Its create another feeling from the same genre.
The atmosphere of this film is really spooky. The production team really put a lot of effort in it to create the spooky feeling.

It is one of my favourite! After wataching Dark Water and Emily Rose from theatre, no other films like Insidious can make you feel spooky again.

But what I felt that, I think.....director is using one of the Chinese Horror Elements or I should say, it can be found at Chinese Ghost Tale.
It's about the soul was "escape" from the body host, and have lost in somewhere "further".
It very similar like what Chinese Ghost Tale mention, the soul will goes out somewhere when we are sleeping.
And when the "ritual" is perform, we must CALL the NAME of the victim, whos soul been out there. So that the soul can find the way to their host recognize by the voice.
It is more or less similar like one of the Chinese tradition ritual.

I remember when I was a small kid, I have a high fever, after visiting a few doctors, it doesn't seem help. So my mom was using this type of ritual at night to call my name outside and ask for my soul to come back.
Well, I just only can remember that, others I have forgot,... haha.....
But its kinda interesting I guess....just tiring my mom....and my dad...they are worried at that time, but at last .... my fever was gone....because I got tonsil infection, thats all.. haha.
Anyway, I have a great parents!

So, my conclusion of this film is, ITS WORTH TO WATCH at theater! To feel the atmosphere and the spooky feeling of this film. May not get it from other movies though!

Recently, my younger brother recommended this TV series to me, and its quite interesting.
It gives me the feeling like Final Destination, and its like the TV series Ripley's Believe it or not, every episode will definately show you a few ways to die ..... in a very unique way, which you normally can't imagine of.

The narrator of this TV series is Ron Perlman! A good one!
Finding "hell-boy" to speak on this flim! :)

Not suitable for those who weak of heart, it did shows some "graphic" when it comes to the death part.

Also remind me of the documentary called "Faces of Death". If really compared, 1000 ways to die is much more interesting, because "F.O.D" is still consider very hardcore!

Good move on the TV Series!

It's getting "betta and betta".....also..."fasta and fasta".

Quite like this movie, its totally entertaining. The way they use the cars as a stunt, totally will wipe you out!

But can't take it as a logic way, it is more on entertaining side, and I like it very much!

It will have the 6th franchise coming out.

Expecting Dwayne Johnson, is another HIT on this film!

THOR, one of the Marvel superheroes comics icon, is now produced as a movie and showing at the theater. Caught it with my wife on last week. It's a very entertaining movie. Interesting story line and the performances are great too, especially Thor, King of Asgard, The Guardian, woman of science...etc.

Never thought that Thor will be such interesting as a film. This movie not only shows the action, cgi, great actor or actress, but the moral of the story may be different from other superheroes movies.

A must watch for this one!!

Towards the end...the real end after the credits, got 2 minutes of the prelude of Avengers, which going to show on next year. Can't wait to watch that!

About the destiny, the twist, and how smart can you be in a "game"?

For me, its not really about gambling, .. its more on the destiny and will you be able to take the risk to change your life ?

Its one of the best in recent, and will make you think about your life too.

Life is like when you are walking at the "skyscrapper", you would do anything to get the money..the hard earn money,...but when you fall, you will died....
Its really like telling you thats the reality we are facing now.

Anyway, its a good film and its tense from beginning to the end.

Must watch!

Dread + The Final (Review) - [ HorrorFest ]

Dread, a short story from Clive Barker. I kinda like Cliver Barker stories, from Hellraiser, Candyman, Midnight Meat Train to Dread, the plot is so strong on the violence feeling.

But Dread was directed in a way which not that impact. What it shows from the trailers, it already did show all, nothing much from the movie, which I think a bit dissapointed.

Overall, the feeling is still there, the intense is still on, but still prefer if could bring out more violence and show more darker side from the psycho path.

This film is the first directed and first screenplay by this director Anthony DiBlasi.
Keep it up Anthony!

The Final, another film from HorrorFest.

I found this film a bit boring, the torture scene was not so impact if compare to Hostel.
This is a film bout these students was always get bully by their classmates, and they decided to take revenge on them by torturing them from what they have watch from the violence movies.

Its a great idea, and I think can be improve more from here.

Anyway, i think its a good try~

The Crazies (Review)

Just watch it on yesterday. I found it was ok ok only.

But got a few scene which quite impress, which one of it is the "petients" who tied up on a bed and got a crazy man comes to kill them one by one, that is so intense.

Just found that it may a bit drag, only my personal view.

Radha Mitchell had a good performance in this film. But for Timothy Olyphant, a bit wasted, he is a great actor, just feel that he seems can't bring out a good performance in this film.

Anyway, overall this film was ok for me. Just for entertaining, should be alright.....

It's a great thriller by Martin Scorsese and another great performance by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The way Martin Scorsese directed is so details, every scene, every words. It end with a good twist.

It brings you into a psycho world which will make you fear,...perhaps .. may make you lost too. haha :)

For my personal thoughts, I think it will be much more better if it shot in an entertainment way.

It's not that Martin Scorsese version is not good, but he is trying to tell a very long story, and definately, he got his unique way to telling the story, that's a great way with no objection.
But if it's would be more intense, shorter a bit, then it may be another mood.

Anyhow, I think this is a another great thriller film to watch already. No doubt, Martin Scorsese is a great director, when meet a great actor like Leonardo, it's definately worth the watch!

Another great film done by Malaysian. It's about the first love and happen in a small town.

It shot beautifully, great scenery, great performance, should be proud of Malaysian.

This film directed by AhNiu who used to be a singer and songwriter. All the while, he got his own unique way for songwriting. Then in this film, it's another unique way too and its very his own kind of film. Gary Chaw had a great performance too! Most of the actors and actress are from the music industry.

I think Malaysia film industry will have a bright future, if we keep develop the good film and never affraid to be failure.

Echoes of Rainbow, it's a very very touching story. Story happens in the 60's HongKong. About a family which go through the sweet and hard times.

Sreenplay is written by Alex Law who is the director of this film too. Produced by Mabel Cheung.

It's success to bring out the feeling of the 60's HongKong, how was the lifestyle during that time, how was the situation when during dinner time, I think it will be definately recall back all the old times memory for the HongKong citizen.

This film shows how important of the positive mindset which have to be face in the reality, and in this film, it always mentioned like : "have to believe...." and "when facing hard times now, the good times will comes next", which is I think quite motivated.

Anyway,...it's a great film to watch!

Clash of the Titans (Review)

A remake from year 1981 film. Ofcourse, that's a classic during 80's film. But for now, what we only can feel is the effects (CGI), not the soul of the story anymore.

This is a great story, a great imagination could bring to audience, a fantasy film would bring the entertainment to the audience who never know the story before.

But, just that this latest version, is lack of something, which can't bring the "finishing" to the "Old" audience who had been watch at the 80's version.

For effects and entertainment, yes, it brings the result, as for the story line, I still prefer the 80's.

Director Louis Leterrier who brought us film The Transporter, Danny the Dog, Transporter 2
and The Incredible Hulk.

For those audience who never know the story and never watch the 80's version, I think this could capture the new audience attention~

From Malaysian director Ho YuHang. It's a good movie, from the view of International Screen and from the artistic way, i think it's done pretty well.

Ho YuHang did his good work again in this film. He tried to bring out the reality world to the audience and the feeling is really strong.

Actress WaiYingHung is great, the character she played in this film is about a single mom who is an alcoholic and always wanted to protect her son.

A Malaysian-Must-Watch Film!

This film, the story line a bit weak. It's just a simple story about a cop reach Paris to co-operate with another cop to defends the bad guys.

Although it's simple, it will still entertain you. With all the laughing and the action, still worth to watch.

Edge of Darkness (Review)

Mel Gibson is back! He is real good at his acting, especially this character, as a father who lost the daughter.

But I found out this film was "ok ok". Many reviews and audiences compare with "Taken". I still think Taken is best to watch as for entertainment, thriller, action packed and the story is better than Edge of Darkness too. Well, this only my personal review.

Director Martin Campbell did a few good job at his previous film like The Mask of Zorro, Vertical Limits and Casino Royale.

I think director Martin wants to bring more emotional feeling in this film, that's why its shows more on the feeling side of a father who lost his daughter.

Not a must watch, but if you are a Mel fan, then you could be like it.

Green Zone (Review)

Director Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon did it again! Many was saying it's like another Bourne film. For me, it's not. But may be Matt Damon need to try other way to act this character which will differentiate from what he did in Bourne series.

This film, actually quite intense. It's a good thriller, which will keep remind you a war... is it needed ? What's the true story behind a war?

Anyway, director Paul Greengrass did his job to deliver such a action packed thriller film.

A good one !

The Lovely Bones (Review)

No doubt Peter Jackson is a great visionary director, but I think Lovely Bones may not be accepted much by the audience.

This is an artistic film, which shot beautifully. It's like a poetry feel kind of scene, it's a tragedy but Peter Jackson using his unique way to tell the story.

I think he did a very good job, but not in the commercial way.

Misery (Review)

I heard this film long time ago, when I was still in secondary school, my friends keep recommended this film to me. But still never got chance to watch it till around 20 years at recently, only I watch it the first time at HBO.

Although this film was like 20 years ago, but the impact is still there. Totally blown me away!

The story line is great, and the performance of Kathy Bates was awesome! She won the OSCAR for best actress in leading role. Kathy really a great actress! Especially in Misery, her performance will make you think that she really like a "psycho" and she really a psycho-fans in this film!

Misery is one of the best thriller I watch so far.

WooHoo! 恭喜发财! Wish all Chinese will have a Happy CNY and will live healthier in this year!

大日子woohoo! is a local Malaysian-Chinese production film, which also the first so-called "CNY Movie" from Malaysia.
For Malaysian-Chinese, its definitely a great honor to watch it, because the film was shot in a way that was so "localize", but I think may be the foreigners will not be so understand much in some of the parts, but the local Malaysian-Chinese will understand it well and definitely will enjoying it while watching it.

I myself also found it quite fun and quite interesting. It's a good start for a production like this.

This film will definitely brings you joy and tears. Can not be missed during this CNY festival in Malaysia.

The actors and actress from this film, is actually the DJs from MyFM radio station and the host from Astro (Malaysian satellite television).

Bravo for all the actors and actress and 2 thumbs up for this 大日子woohoo film!

The Wolfman (Review)

Watch it at mid-night, nearly "fall-in-sleep", not the movies fault, just that I might too tired...may b...hmm.

Anyway, The Wolfman is not a bad show, but not a great show neither. I think several parts and the story line, screenplay, can be better.

No doubts, the effects is really not bad, how it turn into a werewolf, using the technology at now and compare to the werewolf of last time or compare to some of the latest film, the way it transform which may bring you some "freshness",...of "fleshness"....

Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving performances are great. Director Joe Johnston who directed movies like Jurassic Park 3, Hidalgo, Jumanji, etc. I still prefer his Jumanji and Hidalgo.

The Wolfman, I think it still not bad just for an entertainment which you don't have any movies to watch? :P

Don't expect much!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (Review)

Do you believe in karma? Well, I do believe in what ever you do now, will affect your future and the result is very depending on what decision you would have made right now......which is I think im talking "nonsense" or BULLS**Ting, haha :)

I think Ghost of Girlfriends Past got a good story line, got a great plot, but the way the story telling goes or the way it been directed, may be lack of some freshness.
It's kind of slow, a bit boring at the middle of the film. May be should improve on the screen play and if possible to put more elements of jokes / comedy, then it may be quite success though.

Personally feels that, it could be better, if it direct in a different way? or the screen play may improve a bit, then it will be very fun.

Matthew McConaughey performance was so so, although he looks so great in this film, but I stil prefer the Matthew who took the character like in "A Time To Kill". Jennifer Garner Performance was also not that great too, but she looks pretty!

Director Mark Waters, who directed film like The Spiderwick Chronicles, Just Like Heaven, Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and etc.

Anyway, although I'm freethinker, I believe in karma! Please do good,....and good will bring to you :)

Old Dogs (Review)

Not a good film, but just for the entertainment without a brain, I think it's still good to watch. Got a few part which makes me laugh till non-stop. Some of the jokes are quite funny! I laughed quite loud actually.

The story line is weak, John Travolta performance in this film is weak too.....may be that's why IMDB and Metacritics give so low rate for it.

Director Walt Becker of this film, who directed Wild Hogs, and Wild Hogs sequel Bachelor Ride is coming this year. Hope Wild Hogs Bachelor Ride will not dissapointed the audience.

Although this is not a great film, but I quite enjoyed it. when you watch this movie, no need to bring your brain along. :)

This is the BEST HK FILM in year 2009 which produced by Tung-Shing Yee. The story line not bad and it's about greed. These 3 police officers who got the wrong decision at the beginning and they never see it is coming towards them, non-stop thrill, non-stop action till the end of the film, and it's really entertaining!

The 3 police officers who played by Lau Ching Wan, Louis Kee and Daniel Woo, their performance is great! They are real COOL !! Glad that HongKong got so much talented person like them.

Heard that will have the sequel of this film in future too. Hope the 2nd sequel will be as good as the 1st one or hopefully better than the 1st.

Anyway....Overheard definitely a must watch! BRAVO!

Bodyguards and Assassins is one of the best HK / China film in year 2009 and it's produced by Chan Ho Sun who is one of the great / successful film director from HongKong.

It's great to see so many famous actors and actress is involve in this film. Their performance is really good. Especially the one who be The Tycoon - Xueqi Wang. The way he played as a father in this film, it's really touched audiences heart. Thumbs up for Xueqi Wang. Nicholas Tse got a not bad performance too!

But this film is a bit sad, kind of sad after watching the whole show. It will makes you to think about it everytime reminds of what have happen in the history sometimes.
Ofcourse not all 100% of this film is true events or history. Just that the message which this movie had brought to us, will have a great meaning behind it, i'm sure of that. :)

One of the great film which you can't miss.

Saw VI (Review)

Not bad....not bad! It's quite violence at the opening "game" which the sinners play. At the end, it got twisted a little bit, and you won't know it will going to be end like that. Well, overall is not bad, I think all SAW fans will not going to miss this too.

At the end of the film, it already got hints which SAW 7 will coming may b in year 2010. The story will continues from there, and can't wait to watch how's the story will goes.

Now, SAW movies is like a "Cinema Series", and watch it every year halloween is a must for some audience or the fans. I think this is one of the most successful in sequal making and each sequal quite selling well too.

SAW film definitely a masterpiece!

Ooops,....Robert Downey Jr did it again! He twisted the character successfully in Sherlock Holmes. The Sherlock that he played in this film, is not the legendary gentlemen of Sherlock in England, but what he had add in...is become more "tasteful". Not that kind of serious, dull and boring suspense film. He twisted it and act it in a "beautiful" way! Like a "Bad" version of Sherlock, but i think many audience will accept it...even may be will like it more especially Robert Downey Jr can bring this character so "alive" in the cinema! Jude Law and Rachel McAdams also starred in this film too, both of them got a not bad performance!

The entire film is full of fun, suspense, thrill and action. You will be very curious of what will be happen next. As the classic of suspense, the "truth" of all crimes may only be reveal at the end of the story, ... same to this film too.

I think for the year 2009, Sherlock Holmes is one of the big HIT, and I believe it will have its sequel in the near future. Can't wait to watch it again!

Iron Man (Review)

Iron Man, one of the big hit in year 2008. 2nd of its sequel is coming this year 2010 and it will be another big hit, I guess.

Robert Downey Jr. is the best fit for the character Tony Stark. The way he acted it, is real fun! Just watch it again at HBO last night. It really impressed although had watch 2 - 3 times.

It had combined the humor, action and thrill in this film. Definitely a must watch!

Happy New Year to all movie freaks! :)

Hope 2010 will be another great year for movie industry and will have much more great films coming. May watch Old Dogs in this week or next week, I think it's a great comedy!

1st Jan 2010, staying at home, not so feeling well, having medicine,......just finish watched "The Incredible Hulk" from HBO. Feel a bit wasted for a good actor like Edward Norton to starred as Bruce in Hulk. He can act in many characters, just feel that Bruce character may not suitable for him. He been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Supporting Role at the Academy Awards in 10 years ago....

Anyway, it's a great film for me to watch as a start at HBO for year 2010....and alsobeing a bit not-so-feeling-well.

This is a great movie! Based on 2 true stories. A must watch!

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams performance is stunning! Director is Nora Ephron, who brought us film Sleepless in Seatle, You've Got Mail, Michael, etc. Nora Ephron is really good in directing in this kind of drama, romance and comedy!

Julie & Julia is about 2 stories which Julia is an American chef, author, and television personality. She introduced French cuisine and cooking techniques to the American mainstream through her many cookbooks and television programs. And the other story is about Julie who will be feature Julia's 524 Recipes in 365 days, with also published in her blog too. From her blog, Julie become famous in introducing Julia's recipes and got a chance to published her own book.

This really a good movie and I like it so much!

Avatar (Review)

King of the world is return with his latest film and this film is amazing! May be the story line looks bit similar like "Dances with Wolves" or "The Last Samurai", but it still one of the best and one of my favorite! I like it so much.

The CGI is so stunning! The scene is so beautiful, half of the entire film is using 3D / CGI to develop it, and this is one of the most expensive film they ever made.
Looks like James Cameron always over budget for his own film, and every film he directed, not only in good return, but also wins most of the audience heart.

James Cameron already plan for this film since 12 or 14 years ago? He did mention at that time the CGI may not achieve what he requested for the efx of this film. The way he wrote the script, is very unique. He got his own way to tell the story, I think most of the audience will accept it and also will feel the passion from his film.

This definitely a MUST WATCH for this year! Won't feel like watching a 2.5 hours film, because you will enjoy every single sec. in this film! Bravo!!

Just watch it last night. Unfortunately,...fell in sleep after halfway of the film. Just know that Dakota Fanning is "on" & "off" showing on the screen, because my eyes already get blur.....open my eyes once a while to see what's happen next, but I still..really can't get what's happening.

Honestly, not really a good show for me. It's too boring, some love story film is much more better than this, although New Moon is a love story too, but I feel that it's not shooting and directed in the best way yet, still got rooms for lots of improvement.

I think it may disspointed the fans of Twilight novel.
Don't waste your money.

Watch it last 2 night, overall I found it quite boring, but some of the part....is quite spooky. You can see the image above, there's a shadow at the door. "Someone" is disturbing them while they are sleeping.

One of the successful of this film and the most scarriest part is when Katie is drag by "someone" from the bed till the store room, I personally feel that this is quite impacful, because when she beeing drag, you can't see anyone is dragging, but she is actually being drag.

This is a very low budget film which earn BIG at this year.

This one really sucks! I nearly slept inside the cinema while watching it half way of the show.
May be the way they did it is too artistic? or May be i'm just not that into this kind of film?

This is totally not a commercial film at all, but the trailer did sells very well. May be I just get cheated by the trailer.

The way it shoot, it's too slow and kind of boring. May be they want to put more emotional into this film? But the emotional part really doesn't help much on the film.

They have a great plot, a mysterious plot. I believe if its directed in a different way, then it may attracted to many audiences too.

The original film is from The Twilight Zone, is called "Button, Button". I think the original may better than this movie version.

Well, the really successful of this film is, the effects of the old man face which already get burnt and the trailer which did sells very well!

5 directors, 5 horror stories.

It's quite entertaining, but not so scary. Watch with a friend and we did feel that the audience at the cinema is quite "noisy", full of "laughter" and "screamer", anyhow....I did enjoy it through out the show.

Personally, I like the 4th and the 5th story. The 4th story is call Salvage, it's about the 2nd-hand-cars which the business-lady sold, is all been rebuilding from damage or crash, and every cars damage, got a story behind it. This one I feel that is quite spooky.
The 5th story is call In The End, this was so fun and entertaining. Yeah, plus a bit creepy too, but the way it directed is unique, smart, exciting and definitely you will enjoy it too. This story directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun who directed movie like Shutter, Alone and one of the short story from 4bia. Well, this is the best of all 5, i think~

Worth watching yo~

Watch it again at last night on HBO. One of the greatest thriller of all time! I like thriller film very much and this film is one of my favorites! Imdb rated it at the top #24 film of all time!
This film have won 5 Academy Awards which is Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Anthony Hopkins is the most suitable for the character Dr. Hannibal Lecter . He really got a stunning performance in this film. It feel so creepy from him!

Now a days, seldom got a film will produced to be like this anymore. This film will not have much gore scene, not much "blood" too if compare to SAW and HOSTEL. But it still give you the intense feeling and you will definitely grip your seat while watching it.

It's a great suspense and one of the thrillers classic!

Not bad, not bad! It's entertaining, fun, action-packed and thrill. I know this film long time ago, but never get a chance to watch it, till last night watch it at HBO. Attracted from the beginning, just sit at there and watch till the end. Surprisingly it's a film from 1991, 18 years ago, I watch it first time at 2009 and it's still really not bad! Although it's a "standard formula" from Hollywood action-packed thriller, but it's really works well!

Starring by Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans, both of them are really great actors and they have a "not bad" performances in this film.

Directed by Tony Scott, who brought us movie like The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, Man on Fire, Spy Game, Enemy of the State, The Fan, Crimson Tide and etc. He mostly directed action-packed and thriller film. Most of his film, will have 2 strong male characters which either is partner or 2 extreme characters which fighting each other.

I believe "The Last Boy Scout" is one of the best from Tony Scott.

Well, it will make you puke if you are not really interested in this kind of comedy. Obviously, it just a "Rob Schneider" show. Just to see how Rob Schneider performs to be a HOT CHICK in this film. But be frank, the jokes which inside this film are quite lame.

Guess, may be Rob Schneider would like to become a 2nd of "Jim Carrey"? Who knows, may be Rob can really make something out in the future. But for sure, Rob is really working hard on his career as a comedian. The way he act and his performance are unique. He really got the talent. May be just that need to have a good script for him to performs to get a "higher" appreciation?
Rob also a co-writer for the script of this film.

Anyway, for the film....not that good, but for Rob performance....great!

Starring Hitomi Kuroki who is very suit to the character of the mother. She did very well in this movie. Nevertheless, she is a very beautiful auntie who already age 49 this year.
She also involve in many Japanese TV series too.

Well, this film is quite success, it really brings you the creepy feeling of an old apartment. The dark and old corridor will make you feel so uncomfortable. When the old lift open the door, you will not know what is inside. The old CCTV which showing every corner of the old apartment which make you feel like something crawling your skin.
After watch this movie, if you have water drop or leak from the roof or ceiling from your apartment and house, you may think of many stories behind it. :)

This is another great horror movie of all time! What Lies Beneath starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. Both of them plays well in their character in this film!

Seldom, a Hollywood movie could bring you this type of horror movie, it's something similar like Japan horror movie. What Lies Beneath entire film is so "silence" and yet so mysterious. It will slowly lead you to the answer step by step with the creepy atmosphere. ..and both of their performance would add up some points too.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis who brought you Forrest Gump in year 1994. He also a Academy Awarding Wining: Best Director for movie Forrest Gump. Soon, his latest film A Christmas Carol will going to show at our nearest theaters. It really a surprise that Robert Zemeckis will directed "What Lies Beneath" this type of film, it's not really his style, but he did very well for this!

Ringu, one of the scarriest movies of all time. Hollywood "The Ring" is adapted from the original film from Japan "Ringu".
I was watching alone, it was so scary at that time. It was so suffer when you really watching alone with all the lights off, with such the environment and atmosphere, you will sure get out of that place

The set up of this film is so simple, it doesn't have much CGI and not much background music too. It just the way it directed and the environment it shows you, will make you feel so creepy.
I think this is one of the successful movies which lead it to hollywood market. And after that, many of the hollywoods movie follows to adapted the Japan horror films script.

Starring Nanako Matsushima who is one of the top model and actress in Japan during the late 90's. Her performance is great in this film, the character is quite suits for her.
Director Hideo Nakata did a really great job in this film. The whole film is so mysterious, so creepy, towards to the end of this film is so stunning and smart!

I like this film very much and I advise you, ...whoever haven't watch yet, and if intend to watch it,....please don't watch it alone.

Since last week is Halloween, let's us talk about some horror movies this week.
The Thing is one of the scarriest movie I have watch so far. The first time I watch it at the age of 8 and I've got a nightmare after watching this show with my father at night.

The effects of this film is so stunning! At that time, it was no CGI to help to create the effects and the creatures. It's all look so real! When watching them transformed from human being to the creatures, it will definitely blown you away!
You will never thought that the alien will "looks" so-in-different-way and it is so creative that you will never think of.

I believe The Thing is one of the most successful film from director John Carpenter.
One of the most horror and terrifying film during the 80's.

I like this film so much and have watch many times. :)

District 9 will show you how darkness and evil side of the human being are. Human being will lead by their greed and will do anything they want to achieve their target, even need to hurt the Aliens from outer space.

Happy Halloween!! Just watch this movie last night. Errh..... not really a good one, but just for the sake of entertaining, i think still okay. At first, after watch the trailer, would think it may be another good horror movie because the atmosphere and the environment of this film at the trailer was really not bad. But after watch the entire show last night, well..just found it's only "okay okay". Anyway, still ok and worth to watch as an "alternative" kind of horror movie.
It's not really that kind of "real horror" but bring a little bit fun, a little bit violence, and it's not scary at all.

Paranormal Activity claim to be the most scarriest film of all time. Hope can watch it soon at here. But don't know when it only can be show at the near by cinemas.....
The trailer quite good, at least it shows the impact of the scarry moment of this film.
After Blair Witch Project, then comes Cloverfield, ....then REC and Quarantine. All using the same method to shoot. But so far I think Blair Witch Project is the best. Hopefully Paranormal Activity will be another break through~

Again, one of the film I can't wait to watch!!

Here comes the latest sequal of SAW! SAW series is really a classic. Now a days many audience like to watch how people can be tortured, and SAW can give you the "pain" feeling while you watching it.

SAW is one of the horror / thriller movie which I like the most. But for SAW VI, I still don't know how's the result, hope it will be as good as the original one. It definately will be another HIT~

Bruce Willis is a one of the great actor. But this flim was "ok ok" only. Originally..."Surrogates" got his unique story and is quite interesting too, but the way it directed, is not that great.

For me, personally feel that if its directed in the way of suspense, thriller and more intense, it may be better. Now is like a drama and action film. Anyway...the effects of this film is NOT BAD! Bruce Willis is younger on screen again and the skin is so smooth!

Director Jonathan Mostow who directed movies like Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, U-571, Breakdown, etc.
I like U-571 and Breakdown. Breakdown is a full suspense + thiller + action film.
U-571 also not bad.
But Surrogates is a bit same feeling like T3.

If you miss it, you won't feel a thing.

"Definitely, Maybe" is definitely a romance movie which can't miss!!
This is a very good romance film, beautifully, and one of the best film of the year 2008~
I watch it again at HBO on few days ago and it was so~... touching.

Ryan Reynolds plays "Will" the father who will be divorce and telling the romance story to her daughter.

Law Abiding Citizen (review)

At first, thought it will be another great suspense and thriller movie. But after watch it last night, feel a bit disappointed.
I believe it can be a better version if directed in a better way.
It's kind of slow, not enough explanation.....Gerard and Jamie are great actors, but seems like they can't really match in this film. I would prefer Gerard than Jamie, because Jamie doesn't stands out the character.
The ending quite rush and simple too.

Originally I think it's a great story, a great impact after watching the trailer and read the plot.
But the result of this film is really not that good.

Director F. Gary Gray had directed movie like Be Cool, The Italian Job, A Man Apart, Negotiator, etc. and I like The Italian Job and Negotiator very much, both are the great suspense and thriller movie!

Not a good thriller + suspense movie.
It really got the strong story line, but the way it directed, not really that interesting and not that entertaining too.
I believe it can be directed in a better way so that it will be another great suspense thriller film~

Starring Milla Jovovich, Timothy Olyphant and Steve Zahn.
Timothy is a great actor, he played well in his character in this film, even in his previous movies, he did quite well too~ Like the way he played in "Live Free & Die Hard", "Hitman", "The Girl Next Door", "Dreamcatcher", "Rockstar", etc. He really good at it.

Director David Twohy who directed "The Chronicles of Riddick", "Below", "Pitch Black", "The Arrival". I like "Pitch Black", it's an interesting story, and a strong character played by Vin Diesel.

For The Perfect Getaway, I will rate 5.6/10.

But I still think the story of Perfect Getaway can be able to develop into a great suspense thriller movie if its directed in a different way.

I believe this film is a remake of a movie called "The House on Sorority Row" from year 1983.
Personally feel that this film is quite entertaining, but still not really that great, I think it still can be improve in some parts which will made viewer feel more intense.

Rumer Willis is one of the starring, who is daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis.

The Ugly Truth is just an "OK" romance film for me.
Not the best romance of the year, but still fun to watch.
Especially the "fact" which Gerard Butler had mentioned in this film, it was totally interesting and funny.
Of course....Katherine Heigl is so beautiful in this movie. Both of their acting is good and they are quite match in this kind of film.

Director Robert Luketic who directed movie like 21, Monster-in-Law and Legally Blonde.
I like the way he directed in 21, it's a unique film and a good story too.

well, The Ugly Truth still worth to watch....

IMDB rank it at #42 top movies of all time!

One of the best movie in year 2009. It's realistic, action-pact, and thrill all the way till the end.
It shows you how's a real war looks like when you are in Iraq.
The story is about Sergeant First Class William James becomes the new team leader of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit with the U.S. Army's Bravo Company, .... joins Sergeant J.T. Sanborn and Specialist Owen Eldridge, whose jobs are to communicate with their team leader via radio inside his bombsuit, and provide him with rifle cover while he examines an improvised explosive device (IED).
It's intense when you watch it how they disarm the bombs.

Guy Pearce (Memento, L.A. Confidential), Ralph Fiennes (The Reader, The English Patient, Schindler's List) and David Morse (Disturbia, The Green Mile, The Rock) is appear in this film as well, but just a guest appearance.

Director Kathyn Bigelow, directed films such as POINT BREAK (starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze), K-19: The Widowmaker (starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson) which I have already watch long time ago.
And I like POINT BREAK very much!
Kathyn really can direct such action-pact movie! Bravo!

This is a great movie! One of the great movie from Japan.
Departures won an OSCAR as best foreign film.
This movie is about a man who lost his career, his dream and move back to the small town where he was born. When he is back to this town with his wife, he accidentally interviewed a job which need to prepare the dead for funerals. Make up for the dead, clean the dead body and the ceremony of the funeral.

for me, its kind of spiritual, deep and "shot-beautifully" film!
When they prepare the funerals, they have to make sure the dead have to be as pretty / beautiful as natural,... like when they alive.
This film is full of laughter and tears~
It's really a great movie and must watch! Don't miss it!

This is only an "average" action movie,......from my point of view.
don't have surprises, don't have an impact story line, but the effects is good!
Character wise...i would prefer Sam Worthington, i think he is much more "stands out" than Christian Bale. Not even the character, but the acting too.

TS directed by McG, he directed Charlie Angels in year 2000.
I prefer TS than Charlie Angels. I think he got improvement in directing movies.

I give a 6.4 for TS~

the way it directed the movie is really smart and good!
the clue, the answer will coming up one by one......

this movie is telling you the story of these few guys get drunk and when they wake up, they have already forgotten what they have done the previous night, so they have to search back their memories and while they exploring it...., the clue and answer is getting clearer one by one....

i love it!...
give an 8 for this!

This is a nice movie!
starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Ryan starred in Definately May Be, Xmen, Smok'in Aces,......and he been a really great actor.
In The Proposal, the characted which Ryan played, is quite match with Sandra, and I personally feel that this film is one of the best romance movie for year 2009.
well,...seldom have this kinda movies which could bring you "good feel" ... since I watch "While you were sleeping" which starrring Sandra Bullock, I love that movie and I have watch several times....But anyway....The Proposal cant really compare to it.
Sandra is a great actress, she really can play well like this kind of character in The Proposal.
Overal, this movie will still make you enjoying it, but for me, the ending part is just a bit rush and kinda "simple"...~ :)
well....its a nice story anyway!

The director Anne Fletcher who directed 27 Dresses and Step Up.
and I think The Proposal is her best directed movie!

I will rate it at 6.5 for this~

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Review)

Gavin Hood, the director previously directed the film Rendition, is an average thriller movie, and now he is directed Wolverine, the 4th sequel of X-Men film, which got some good feedback on it.

The fans who likes Hugh Jackman and X-Men / Wolverine will definitely enjoying this movie. The story line is fine,....action pact and thrilling!

Surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds who starring in "Definitely, May Be" is in X-Men play as Wade or DeadPool, one of the mutants who brings a long the sword and at the end, he become Weapon XI who is in the special mutant Weapon X program.
And Black-Eye-Peas rapper Will.I.Am also one of the mutant who got the specialty in teleport.

I will give a 7/10 for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Quite a good one!

Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams. a famous director who directed LOST / Alias tv series, and also directed MI3. A new trendy director in the Hollywood movies line. He got his own way to tell a story, we as an audience will definitely captured by his film.

All played pretty well in this movie, the story line is good, got action pact and got very touching moment. I like the legendary character like Spock and James T.Kirk. The characters really played well by the starred artist. Its a good movie~ 7.5/10

The story line not bad, just only the "torture" and "killing" scene is not so violence,...haha...i like hardcore violence, but over all in this film is ok~ Enjoying it while watching it......only SanSan close her eye thru whole movie. haha....

This film produced by Michael Bay. He did produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre few years ago. Friday the 13th starred Jared Padalecki who also starring in TV serious supernatural.
Overall ok~ 6.5/10

TAKEN is a great action thrilling movie. Along the film, you will feel what a father felt if the daughter being kidnapped, and will using all his ability to save the daughter. Its a non-stop thrill action which showing how a father uses his special ability to track down an underground protitutions in Paris when the daughter travels there.

Story is written by Luc Besson and it got his own unique way to tell this action pact film.

I have watch this movie twice, and I still can feel the thrill on it. 2 thumbs up for TAKEN!

K-20 (Review)

K-20 is a good movie. Starring Takeshi Kaneshiro & Takako Matsu. The story is nice, it got the combination of romance, funny, action and touching moments in this film. It is not the typical type of Japanese movie, its really worth to watch and its entertaining. But the runtime may a bit too long. Rate: 7/10

Saw V is showing at U.S. now. Would like to watch it, but here already get banned.
Saw sequal is very creative on the torture and murder scene,...it so gore,...bloodish.....
This time, jigsaw will going to be ALIVE again in this sequal, hope to get it on somewhere else....ehm ehm....

At first, I was thinking that it may be another boring movie, which i judge by the OPENING of the movie. But it is not!! Really get touched by the story.
